Goat Castle & Queens
Goat Castle, one of seven towerhouses, dates from around 1429. It is
now part of Dalkey Castle & Heritage Centre. The centre is open
7 days a week, all year round. The Queen’s (1745), Dalkey’s
oldest hostelry, was originally The Red Crowe. |

Dalkey Island
Gaze on the beauty ofthe rocky, granite island. You can see the early
Christaian St Begnet’s Church, the Martello Tower and the Holy
Well. The herd of feral goats is traditional to the island. |

Vico Road
From Sorrento Park you can take in the breathtaking scenery accross
the Vico Road to Killiney. The area has been likened to the Bay of
Naples. Vico Road has many literary associations, featuring in the
work of Hugh Leonard, Flann O’Brien and James Joyce. |

King of Dalkey Island
This was a Mock Ceremony in the 1780's. It ended after the 1798
rising. Part of the King's title was 'his Facetious Majesty,
Emperor of the Muglins,...and Sovereign of the Most Illustrious Order
of the Lobster and Periwinkle'. |
